SPRING CHINOOK SALMON FISHING...April thru June
Fishing enthusiasts call this first run of ocean-fresh spring Chinook salmon “springers”. You get an explosive fight from an excellent eating fish! If you’re hooked on fishing, you’ll want to fish Oregon’s Rogue River or Northern California’s Klamath River. The salmon fishing’s great, the scenery magnificent and the whitewater thrilling!
FALL CHINOOK SALMON FISHING...JULY thru SEPT and NOV thru DEC
First Run: This run occurs in the Rogue River Bay. High concentrations of salmon, “keg up” in the bay waiting to migrate up river. Fish weigh 12-45 pounds. This makes for an exciting bite while trolling from our luxurious jet boat.
Second Run: As fish populations change, we fish rivers with the most productive salmon fishing. Fish the Elk, Sixes, Rogue and Chetco Rivers in southwest Oregon. Or try your luck on the Smith and Klamath Rivers in California These rivers are second to none in the Pacific Northwest for fall Chinook salmon fishing! The 86 pound California state record salmon was caught on the Smith.
WINTER STEELHEAD FISHING : December through MARCH
World class steelhead fishing opportunities abound on the Smith, Chetco and Rogue Rivers. We offer a unique steelhead fishing adventure on the Middle and South Fork of the upper Smith River from our custom raft. Exceptional runs, inaccessible fishing areas, and minimal fishing pressure make this an unforgettable fishing experience. Drift boat fishing on the lower Smith and Chetco is fantastic! Due to the explosive nature of these fish, expect long runs and an aerobatic fight! These ocean-fresh fish average 7-12 pounds and can weigh up to 20 lbs. There’s over 175 miles of natural anadromous fish habitat. It’s no wonder the 27.4 pound state record steelhead was caught on the Wild and Scenic Smith River.

LA Times Feature
LA Times Outdoor Writer, Pete Thomas, states, “Jeff Zennie goes the extra mile–literally. His Smith River trips take place so far off the beaten path, amid some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable, that the only crowds you’re likely to encounter are the multitudes of steelhead passing to your left or right. The rest is up to you…”
